Accessing the surgery during Covid-19

Please note, we are still open, but the way you receive medical care has changed.

The surgery remains open and available to patients, but how you access our services has changed. In order for us to protect the health and safety of our staff and patients, all appointments will need to be booked over the telephone. We are opening up more of our face to face appointments but will still offer telephone consultations, where appropriate.

Most appointments are still unavailable to book online, but you can continue to use Patient Access or the NHS app to order repeat prescriptions, access self care and view your medical records. The NHS app is available from all app stores.

You can also contact a GP by email at LBS.reception@nhs.net or eConsult to request medical advice and a GP will ring you back to discuss this further by telephone. If you cannot talk on the phone, please make this clear in your message.

Nursing Appointments

These are taking place, however some routine procedures will be delayed. The nurse will be wearing protective equipment during the consultation.

Certain annual reviews such as asthma checks are being conducted by telephone, and patients will receive a text message prior to the review asking them to complete a short questionnaire.

If you are due your cervical smear, please book in with the practice nurse as normal.

Prescription Ordering

We are no longer taking prescriptions over the phone. Patients should continue to order their prescriptions online or by dropping the prescription request into the surgery. Online ordering is the fastest and most reliable method. If prescription request is being dropped off, this should be in the box in the entrance porch or the external letterbox.
